This weekend we celebrate one year to go to the London 2012 Paralympic Games, with tickets going on sale in just two weeks' time. We've just released the full competition schedule and ticket prices, so you can start planning now before applying from Friday 9 September to Monday 26 September 2011.

There are brilliant-value tickets on offer to experience sport like never before. Half of tickets are priced at 10 or less, 75% are 20 or less. There are also special price tickets for under 16s and over 60s. Plus, you can buy day passes which give you the chance to see a variety of sports in one day at either the Olympic Park, ExCeL or The Royal Artillery Barracks.

Join us for International Paralympic Day Thursday 8 September

Just ahead of tickets going on sale, we'll be celebrating International Paralympic Day in Trafalgar Square. The likes of 'Blade Runner' Oscar Pistorius and a whole host of GB and international athletes will be there showcasing the 20 Paralympic sports featuring at the Games. Come down and join us or tune in to Channel 4's 'That Paralympic Show' for all the action.

Think you could perform in front of an audience of one billion people around the world? The search is on for 10,000 volunteers for performance roles in the Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Artistic Director Danny Boyle encourages: 'The majority of applications so far are from women and I want to see an equal amount of men. So boys don't be shy! Whether you're from an arts groups, sports club or just an enthusiastic individual we have a role for you in the ceremonies, an experience of a lifetime.'

The Paralympics will be an incredible spectacle showcasing inspirational elite sport. It's the second biggest sporting event in the world, so there's plenty to look forward to, and plenty to get involved with now. Two million tickets will be available for 20 Paralympic sports, with competition taking place over 12 days. Make sure you don't miss out on the inspirational action. Sign up now to register your interest in tickets - they go on sale next year.

Could you be a Games-time volunteer?
We'll need up to 70,000 volunteers to help run the Games - a third of them at the Paralympics. We're calling them 'Games Makers'. Applications for generalist roles open on 15 September - find out if you've got what it takes.

Get ready to welcome the world
Teams from around the world could be on your doorstep, preparing to compete at a Pre-Games Training Camp. You'll also be able to cheer on the Paralympic Torch as it makes its way to the Stadium in the run up to the Opening Ceremony.

The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad includes the largest-ever UK commission for disability arts, with 1.8 million available for Games-inspired work. Disabled and deaf artists and disability arts groups are also involved in the Inspire programme.

London 2012 hopefuls mark two years to go

Paralympics GB hopefuls were joined by Director of Paralympic Integration Chris Holmes and Paralympic mascot Mandeville at their training camp in Bath to mark two years to go.

Channel 4, the Paralympic broadcaster in the UK, have also started a series of special programmes.

Tonight's stunning 'Inside Incredible Athletes' (29 August, 9pm) features seven athletes hoping to compete for ParalympicsGB at the Games.
