Just to make you aware that a lot of funding organisations are now and will be funding only clubs that have Clubmark or the generic equivalent so take a look at the Clubmark page to find out more. There is support for your club through this process from us, the Active Kingston Team and the Good Sports Project.

 
Barclays Community Sports Awards 2011/12
The award aims to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals that use sport to benefit communities across the UK. Football Foundation - Barclays Sports Awards
The accolade is awarded each month during the Barclays Premier League football season alongside those for Barclays Player and Manager of the Month, to highlight the great efforts being made by many in community sport.
The award is open to any individual benefiting their community in any sport. Each monthly winner receives £1,000 for their group or organisation, a limited edition trophy and is entered into the end of season award to win a further £5,000, all donated by Barclays Spaces for Sports. The end of season award winner also receives a VIP trip to London to receive their award from Gareth Southgate.

 Young Kingston - Funding for Young
Communities across the country are invited to bring the 2012 legacy to life in their area by bidding for support for a local playing field through the second £2 million round of Protecting Playing Fields.
Applications for the second round can be made between 24 October 2011 and 12 December 2011, with community and voluntary sector groups able to apply without partnership funding.

Get Involved In Free Sport
The second application round for FreeSport 2011 is now open!
Grants of up to £1,500 are available to deliver free sports coaching to Londoners. Applications can be submitted until 5pm, Friday 7 October.
FreeSport is part of the Mayor's Sports Legacy Programme, helping organisations deliver a grass-roots sporting legacy across London.
 The GLA is working with Interactive, Pro-Active London Partnerships and NHS London to build on the success of last year’s programme and give people across London the chance to take part in a wide range of free sport and physical activities in the build up to the 2012 Games and beyond.

Inspired Facilities
A new funding stream announced which you may find useful for your club. "Inspired Facilities is an easier way to apply for facilities funding."
Inspired Facilities is focused on making it easier for local community and volunteer groups to improve and refurbish sports clubs or transform non-sporting venues into modern grassroots sport facilities.
Part of Places People Play, Sport England’s programme to deliver a London 2012 legacy of increased mass participation in sport, it is investing £50 million of National Lottery funding in up to 1000 community sports projects between 2011 and 2014.

Zurich Community Trust
This funder supports groups or charities that work with disadvantaged people in order to help them achieve a more fulfilling and independent future, moving from dependence to independence.
Grants between £500 - £2,000 are offered addressing various needs including disability and learning disability.

Sportsmatch
Sportsmatch brings additional funding to not-for-profit organisations that have secured sponsorship to deliver new projects to get people playing and enjoying sport. Grants from £1,000 up to £100,000 are available to match sponsorship from the commercial sector, private individuals or charitable trusts.
Clubs, voluntary organisations, sports governing bodies, councils, schools and universities can get their applications in now, and the first awards will be made in early April. To find out more click here

Young Kingston
Young Kingston gives grants to young people aged 5 to 19 (up to 25 if you have disabilities) who live or study in the Royal Borough.
You can apply for a grant of up to £500 to support your development as a sportsperson or to help you with a group project.
You must show how you could use the grant to benefit the wider community – and representing Kingston at a high level in your chosen sport would fit well.

Play Sport - London Facility Fund  Play Sport Mayor of London Fund
The PlaySport London: Facility Fund is part of the Mayor's commitment to deliver a sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The overall aim of the PlaySport London Facility Fund is to raise participation levels in sport in London through the funding of sports facilities. The fund will help to provide affordable, good quality local facilities within local communities. More info - see links below

The Neil Desai Foundation has just announced that they are now in the position to award small grants, up to £500 to sports clubs in Kingston.
Some of you may have met Urmi Desai during our recent Club Night where she explained the reasons why the Foundation was set up and the forthcoming opportunity for clubs to apply for funding.

Cash4Clubs Cash4Clubs is a sports grants scheme 
Cash4Clubs is a sports grants scheme which gives clubs a chance to win grants ranging from £250 to £1000 for a variety of projects from improving facilities, buying equipment or gaining coaching qualifications. The scheme is funded by Betfair and
supported by SportsAid.
The application form is easy and available on-line, grants
are awarded quarterly following selection by the committee.

The Dickie Bird Foundation Dickie Bird Foundation 
The Dickie Bird Foundation aims to help disadvantaged young people under the age of 18 to participate in sport to the best of their ability irrespective of their social circumstances, culture or ethnicity. The grants will help with the cost of clothing, equipment and contribute towards travel costs.

London Marathon Charitable Trust London Marathon Charitable Trust application form 
The London Marathon Charitable Trust offers grants to refurbish and expand sporting facilities. Grants are only available at certain times of the year, the application form is very easy to complete and the monitoring is not too onerous, unlike some!

The Lord’s Taverners The Lord’s Taverners offer grants to give young people a sporting chance 
The Lord’s Taverners offer grants to give young people under the age of 25, able-bodied or with disabilities a sporting chance. Funding is available for a variety of things such as manual sports wheelchairs or specially adapted mini-buses.

Royal Borough of Kingston Grants Unit Royal Borough of Kingston Grants Unit 
Royal Borough of Kingston Grants Unit has a number of grants available for local voluntary organisations. Project and Strategic Grants have the deadline for submission of 31st October but smaller Neighbourhood grants are on a rolling basis.

SITA UK Sita Trust for Community Funding 
SITA UK runs a small grants scheme of up to £10,000 through the Landfill Communities Fund to support physical improvements to community facilities.
There are five application deadline dates during 2010.

Sport England Small Grants Programme Sport England Small Grants Programme 
Sport England Small Grants Programme has been set up to help local community sport projects which aim to increase and sustain participation, develop opportunities.
They can also help clubs expand their age groups and purchase kit or even pay additional coaching fees.
