Looking Back On A
Great Day |
|
Kingston’s countdown to
London 2012 is well and truly underway
following the Go Kingston 2010 event which
took place on 25th July at the Hawker
Centre. Hundreds of people gathered to
celebrate that it’s only two years to go
until London hosts the 2012 Olympic and
Paralympic Games. Everyone took advantage of
the many activities on offer while gathering
information and advice from the experts on
how to get fit and stay active and healthy
for life. They were also very lucky to
witness some spectacular displays and live
music as well as taking part in the London
2012 Open Weekend Cycle Challenge as well as
testing their strength in the Tug-of-War. |

Thank
You
The organisers, Kingston’s CSPAN, would like
to extend their grateful thanks to all of
the clubs and organisations that gave up
their time voluntarily to make this event
happen, we couldn’t have done it without
you!
Special
thanks go to our following partners:-
YMCA Hawker Centre
management and staff for offering their
facility for the event. John
Lewis for providing the excellent
prizes for the Cycle Challenge.
Quadron Services for marking out
the venue and offering their time.
Kingston First for
providing the much needed marquees and other
necessary equipment. Radio Jackie
for their ‘anything is possible’ attitude
and great support leading up to and during
the event. British Cycling
for organising the Open Weekend Cycle
Challenge. Theatre4All
for organising the attendance of Korean
Dance Group MOKHWA. Rachel Rabin
for her performance and songwriting
workshop. Glo Funk for
ending the day with some fabulous live
music. All of the volunteers
that turned up early and stayed late.
Lynn Humphrey for taking
some great photos throughout the day.
A great day was had by all and we very
much look forward to seeing everyone again
next year.
