MARCH 2011
HUMAN RACE NEWS

Breaking News!

We are delighted to announce the launch of five Speedo Open Water Swim Events in 2011! The swims take in rivers, lakes and the sea at some of the UK's most iconic swimming locations. The series kicks off at the Olympic lake in Eton on 28th May and features three Thames River swims at Windsor on 3rd July, Hampton Court on 17th July and Marlow on 21st August. The fifth and final event is a sea swim alongside the fabulous Sandbanks in Poole on 11th September.

A great choice of distances from 750m to 10km are available and brand new Speedo wetsuits can be hired direct from us online so why not check out the official series website to find out more?

So with March well underway and some truly great events already under our belts for the year, 2011 is shaping up to be one of the best yet for swimming, biking and running with Human Race! In this edition of our monthly e-newsletter you'll find reports on recent races, details of upcoming events, some great competition information and loads more!

What's On - Kick off the Triathlon season with a Super Sprint!

http://humanrace.co.uk/events/triathlon/eton-supersprint-saturday-2011 http://humanrace.co.uk/events/triathlon/eton-supersprint-sunday-2011 http://humanrace.co.uk/events/triathlon/dorney-supersprint-2011

Eton plays host to a full weekend of Tri action on the 14th and 15th of May with the Eton SuperSprint Weekend. Both days feature Sprint distance races with a 400m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the flat, closed road circuit for a 4-lap bike course covering 20k. The final 5k run follows a 2 lap loop along the side of the rowing lake on tarmac paths.

The two days have become something of a 'festival of triathlon' and are the perfect way to kick off the season, test the legs (and swimming arms!) and post a quick time early on in 2011. You can find out more about Saturday's race here (SATURDAY IS ALMOST FULL) and Sunday's race here. NEW FOR 2011!  Due to popular demand we've added a third SuperSprint Triathlon to the calendar, the Dorney SuperSprint on Saturday 21st May.

Event Round-up

The first Saturday in February featured the Tuffman, with Pippingford Park providing a suitably picturesque, not to mention tough, setting for the fourth and final race in the Asics Off Road Series. RACE REPORT RESULTS & GALLERY

Later in the month the Race Your Pace Half Marathon saw 2012 Olympic venue Dorney Lake taken over by almost 1,500 athletes looking to attempt a PB or test their pace in advance of a Spring marathon on a fast, flat course. RACE REPORT RESULTS & GALLERY

The beginning of March saw the ever-popular Spring BallBuster go off with a bang at Box Hill in Surrey. RACE REPORT RESULTS & GALLERY

TCR Show - Human Race Golden Ticket Winner!

The TCR show this year featured some great stuff as always and the Human Race stand was no exception. Our 'golden ticket' competition to win free entry to 40 of our events through 2011 was immensely popular with Francis Marshall emerging as the lucky winner. Francis plans to do a number of our events this year and is already hard at work preparing his racing calendar to fit in as many as he possibly can! Good luck Francis, we hope you enjoy the events!
