World's Largest Rehearsal Begins A Year Before The Games
Athletes, volunteers and the British public will help the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) go through its paces ahead of the Games next year. More than 10,000 volunteers, 8,000 athletes from more than 50 countries and more than 250,000 spectators will be part of a 12 month rehearsal for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in a programme of test events that run from May 2011 to May 2012.
LOCOG’s detailed testing programme, which is branded the London Prepares series, will see some world class sporting events with athletes competing in London’s iconic existing venues as well as brand new venues in the Olympic Park. More info and details of Test Events

With just over a year to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games there is a lot happening in Kingston with plenty of opportunities for clubs and groups to get involved.
Plans are well underway to offer a 14 week programme of sport, physical activity, art and culture across Kingston and what’s more - you can get involved.

Design a GK2012 Logo

Feeling creative? Kingston’s Cultural Olympiad need a logo to brand its programmes in 2011 and 2012. Open to young people aged up to 25 who attend school/college/university within Kingston yours could be the logo chosen to appear on all of the publicity for our 2012 celebrations plus you will win the chance to visit the graphic design company and watch your logo being created. Closing date for entries is 18th February 2011.
