The Neil Desai Foundation has just announced
that they are now in the position to award
small grants, up to £500 to sports clubs in
Kingston. |
|
Some of you may have met Urmi Desai during
our recent Club Night where she explained
the reasons why the Foundation was set up
and the forthcoming opportunity for clubs to
apply for funding.
|

The Guidelines and Application Form are
below. Also please visit the

worthwhile Charity when holding fund-raising
events. |

| Small Grant up to £500:
Criteria for applications |
| The Neil Desai Foundation is
a charitable organisation created by Neil’s
family and friends to donate to and support
causes that were important to him. |
|
|
| What Grant is available
for |
| Grants of up to
£500 are available. |
| There are 2
deadlines, 31 March and 30 September the
committee expects to make 2 awards per year
of £500. |
| The committee
would like to see funds going to an
individual athlete whose family may be
struggling financially. |
| Applications can
be made only by a Kingston Borough Sports
Club for the following criteria: |

To support an individual young athlete for
either subsidised fees, travel expenses to
competitions, equipment or kit. |

| What happens
to your Application |
| We will
acknowledge receipt of your application by
e-mail if you have provided an e-mail
address. |
| All applications
are assessed by the committee of the Neil
Desai Foundation working with specialist
officers from Kingston Council’s Active
Kingston Team. |
| We will contact
you if we have any queries about your
application or if we need to clarify any of
the information you have provided. |
| All grant
recipients are required to report back to
the committee with an update of how the
grant was spent and who benefited from the
grant. |
| As a condition
of the grant award, clubs are encouraged to
display posters (which will be supplied to
successful applicants) relating to the
Neil Desai Foundation and
CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young. |
| The Neil Desai
Foundation raises awareness of cardiac risk
in the young and sudden adult death
syndrome. The Foundation also supports
academic achievement, youth sports and
projects to alleviate poverty in Africa and
India. Every week 12 apparently fit and
healthy young people die in the UK from
undiagnosed heart conditions. |
