 Last chance to apply for Active Women funding

Sport England’s chairman, Richard Lewis, has urged sports projects not to miss this week’s Active Women funding programme deadline.

This themed funding programme, which will invest in projects targeting women caring for children under 16 and women from disadvantaged communities, closes to new applications at 5pm on Wednesday 3 February.

Nine new regional champions have been appointed to act as advocates for community sport in the run up to London 2012.
Two of our Regional Champions for Community Sport have already been out visiting some of the thousands of grassroots projects having a real impact in the community.
